Beginnings of an Apartment Zoo

"Carabou and Birds" are kicking off the illustrated Zoo. What could be more fun than an apartment that houses a zoo?! I wish I still had the wire animal farm I made in college.

Swedish Fish Bunny Waffle

So I was google searching "Swedish Fish" because I've been expanding my Swedish Fish pattern designs, and this came up! Is this not the funniest ad ever? (At the bottom it says "A friend you can eat" it was made by JWT in New York. The whole series is just hilarious. It makes me want a bunny, and a waffle, and a Swedish Fish....

Cornelia Hediger

I went back to take down the NY Photo show last night, and got to wander through the exhibitions before they closed. These pieces were utterly striking in person. They're from the series Doppelgänger by Cornelia Hediger She is represented by the Klompching Gallery at 111 Front Street in DUMBO. Have a look at her work, it's beautifully executed, and has a great deal of dark wit. It's refreshing.

Girls in Glasses

This is the start of something HUGE and AWESOME. I've been working on a new painting series that combines natural formations of cellular structures with more concrete portraits. These are some sketches starting the kick off of my "Girls in Glasses" painting series. The first painting is nearing it's "ready to show other people" stage, and the rest of the series seems to be following suit. I'm excited, you?

Dinosaurs!

Yesterday I went to the Museum of Natural History, and spent a serious portion of my day playing in the land of taxidermy animals (which if you stop to think about it is rather creepy). I've never been to the NY one, and it was AWESOME, I spent forever in the room of biodiversity where they have thousands of different species of animals diagrammed. Then spent the remainder of the day drawing silly animals in my sketchbook and playing with the seriously awesome dinosaur stickers I got in the giftshop.

They are posted on my etsy shop, and if you're interested in a larger quantity please send me an email, I can make custom orders from a few fish to a whole school! Check out more pics below.
